just a quick lil ootd while we were running errands...I stopped briefly into the Lily Pulitzer store and really enjoyed imagining the look on the face of the girl who worked there, who I'm sure assumed that I am the demographic who would buy something, if I told her I shoved my skirt in a bag with a ton of other stuff for like $4. I also enjoyed looking at this season's new planners and guessing which ones certain people I know would get. Tbh I do like Lily Pulitzer and have yet to find the perfect retro peice at the thrift store....but when I do, it'll be great.
skirt: thrifted/American Eagle
shoes: Charming Charlie :)
sunnies: Wet Seal (okay they are so bad but I mean we can just use them for pics right?)
ALSO!!! I used a new filter today! A5...I think it would've looked better if I upped the contrast a lil bit but whatevs...next time.
This cheetah shirt is just so great. I'm gonna wear it with chinos and you know what I'm even going to bring my sunglasses to school to wear with this outfit because heck yes.
Shorts: thrifted & cut off :~)
....Let's all just take a moment to admire the fact that my entire outfit is thrifted. I mean heck yes it is. My top and shorts cost >5. Heck freaking yes.
These new silk pants I got at goodwill are the best!!!
Necklaces: Quartermoon, out of the closet
Pants: Goodwill / Banana Republic
I was kinda grumpy today and I knew there was no point in putting on my nice clothes because they might get messed up when I went to babysit later, but I just had to wear something because wearing nice clothes simply makes me feel better. For real. Luckily no dirty dog feet got on my romper like they did on my dress yesterday...
Romper: H & M
Neclaces: gift, American Eagle
I got yet another cheap/already broken item from Wet Seal. But I mean these sunglasses are so epic and when they're like $2 and you're only going to use them for pictures, then hey it's fine....
Sunnies: Wet Seal
Shorts: Ann Taylor ($2 at city walk !!!!! )
Shoes: etsy. But I'd really like to point out that I bought these at the end of sophomore year (May 2015) and they were supposedly handmade in Greece. In August 2015 two other people at school had some similar to these. But in March/April 2016 everyone and their mother has shoes like this!!!!! And they're sold everywhere!!! Not just on specialty shops on etsy!! ....honestly, I'm glad for a new shoe trend because laceup gladiator sandals aren't the typical black patent leather Tory Burch.
Sidenote, I used a different vsco filter today! It's my other fave....A6.
Top: City Walk thrift store
Pants: Kohls (2012)
Earrings: Wet Seal
Necklaces: out of the closet
yep. I changed clothes and wore two outfits today. This is just to make up for all of those times when I was at camp and couldn't wear nice clothes and felt my soul slowly dying day by day.... So I picked a pretty statement peice to go for a quick photoshoot after visiting a friend. All these photos are enhanced, yet again, by my all time fave: C1.
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Earrings: Wet Seal (which actually has really cute and cheap earrings, sunnies, and keychains...)
Today Grace introduced me to the wonderful Uptown Cafe. It was delicious and for once, my restaurant meal didn't cost more than a dress at Goodwill!
Here she is pondering the menu....in C1. :)
And here's her ootd in my other longtime fave, A6.
Let us just take a moment to admire the suburban beauty in this photo. The patriotic decor on the house, my car poking it's awesome 1995 nose in the picture, and the pretty oaks.....suburbia is just great, and this photo really highlights that.
Now here's my ootd.
I just couldn't leave this top at the thrift store. Off the shoulder tops are so trendy now but so awesome.
Culottes: asos (the best online store ever oh my gosh !!!)
Necklaces: old/out of the closet
Sunnies: Ray Ban
Watch: vintage :)
After searching through every single store in the mall basically, I finally found a one peice at Old Navy. Every store only has their one peices on line!
I added some vsco filters bc why not.....
Swimsuit: Old Navy
Statement Necklace: Quarter Moon
Heck yes I made myself a dress at camp this year.
We went for a walk in Pisgah Forest and stopped by a stream where my parents took some pictures of me.
Honestly, this dress wasn't even that hard to make once I could get the sewing machine threaded. I just saw this fabric in the store room and yeah I knew I had to do something awesome with it... I'm straight up going to wear this a lot. I'm so pumped.
MK and I hung out on the fourth and it was pretty good.
...and even better vsco edition....
We also took some pics out of the sunroof of my car. I'm pretty pumped about those.
I made these bracelets at camp! Tonight was their first outing!!
Then we went to Cascades Park :)
Let's talk about this dress. It was $5 at the kitten thrift store. Somehow, in my first round through the dress rack I MISSED IT!!!! When I saw that awesome silk pattern peeking out I grabbed it and asked the lady behind the counter repeatedly if she had just put out new items, and she hadn't! The cut of this dress is so 2003 in the best way possible. And it's from LOFT!!! It's just perfect!!!! I'm so pumped.
Camp was so great this year. My first photoshoot was located on the badminton courts, with my lovely photographer, Ariel Monteith.
Here, I wear last year's staff tank, my awesome floral shorts from Walmart, my two smashed penny necklaces, and to complete the look....my awesome Koa Bem sunnies from Retiro Park.
On one day off, the Cits all walked into Brevard for some Johnny Rockets, gelato, and most importantly some THRIFTING at THE KITTEN THRIFT STORE. I have no words for how much I love that place. Seriously.
So I found this dress for $5 and loved it so much that I changed clothes. Heck yes.
We found a little alley and took a bunch of pics.
Once back at camp, we took the fist of many pasture / mountain photos.
Olivia, Maya, and I were super pumped for Opening Day! #gottagobacktokcat10am.....
Clearly I love confusing people with my strange poses...
But vsco tho. C1 tho. SUBURBIA IN THE BACKGROUND THO.
Our second day off involved a trip to Asheville.
It was a perfect opportunity for Ariel and I to take many many artsy pics.
This shirt was another find from the kitten thrift store. $2 for an awesome oversized peplum floral? I think so!!!
We stopped at The Chocolate Fetish because when in Asheville....
We also stopped to take pics in front of this siq wall because when in Asheville....
The drive back to Brevard was nice.
And Dolly's was perfect, as usual.
It was just a great day.
Our night out involved another camp favorite: Pad Thai.
And afterwards some nice sunset pics.
The horses came out to play with us :~)
I tie dyed this shirt. And felt like an awesome hippie in this bed of flowers in the mountain valley.
But this feeling was definitely enhanced by C1, as all good things in life are.
My Chaco tan was so good this year that you can see it underwater. Heck yes!
Camp this year was amazing. Thanks to everyone out there who made it that way :).
I got the dress I'm wearing at City Walk.....for like $4. Heck yes.
Unfortunately I missed out on family pics for this, but Grace and I definitely needed to take a photoshoot in our colorful spring dresses and oversized crossbody bags.
Risha's party was at this hotel downtown, so I get to get all dressed up and party with about a hundred other people. It was great.
I think in the future I'm going to wear this jumpsuit with my gray bandeau and zip it all the way down.
hey the tassle on my purse matches the ones on my shoes!
This photo, which also features Lanier Hicks and her new two piece from H&M's summer casual line, was taken before we could find workable lighting...
just a nice back view of Amanda's jacket from Narcissus...
A good time was had by all.
