Here, we've got a nice conglomeration of art. But we're not just talking about the palm tree paintings. This wide-set gingham top is one of my favorite shirts of all time. It's so large and oddly shaped that it pretty much swallows me whole, and quite frankly I don't think any other girl my age would wear anything like it. Ever. So that's probably exactly why i like it so much.
I love the minimalism of pairing it with a simple black pleated (VINTAGE TENNIS!!!) skirt and sandals because this draws the attention to the totally unconventional shape of the outfit, which is so refreshing to me.
Wearing something with such a bold shape like this makes me feel uniquely myself because it draws attention to me by making me stand out. This shirt quite literally says to everyone: this girl doesn't give a crap about being like everyone else. And personally, I think I've been giving a few too many craps lately, so I'm going to remind myself to stop. And go buy more oddly shaped shirts at the freaking thrift store for $2 on half off day. Because you know what? That's what eighth-grade Elspeth would do, and I will stubbornly and passionately carry her irritating yet nonetheless confident and hopeful spirit with me until the love of my life can finally put her to rest in the hovel that was my bottom locker by the girls bathroom in middle school.
Now go wear something weird today like I plan to and stick it to the man because
I. Dare. You.
Yet again, I find myself unable to resist another photoshoot in Leyburn. Why? Because I love the entire vibe of Leyburn and am willing to fight anyone who disagrees with me and doesn't enjoy time travelling to the 70s every time they're trying to do their homework....or spy on people....which is what i was doing before this photoshoot but then I realized the person i was spying on wasn't there so i left. But not before I finished eating an entire bag of chex mix only to realize that it contained three whole servings. well. ...........oh well....
I had a dang lot of fun with my chex mix, though, as you will see in the following photograph. If i were the type of person to frequent gas stations, chex mix is toatally what I would buy. Every. Time.
Now to discuss this monochrome look lying underneath the best rainbow winter accessory anyone has ever owned throughout the history of time. Ever since I decided to break free from the chains of the "no white pants in winter" rule, I have become a new person inside. White pants look amazing in winter. With anything and everything, especially the signature silver boots. And you know why? Because no one else wears white pants in winter. Cloudy winter days around here are just a sea of muted olive green Barbours and drab black coats. So i decided to risk looking like a clown today and walk around in something as loud and bright as i could come up with. I was very pleased with the result. I have a feeling that if the chex mix pieces in my bag could talk, then I would hear a chorus of ooooos and ahhhhhs.

Today, I hopped into a WWII fighter plane pretty much because I figured when the heck else in my life will I be able to do that without paying some obscene amount of money to a corrupt tourist trap. We've just got to take advantage of some of these opportunities, people. There were about five thousand different buttons. I didn't press any. Because I'm twenty years old, and I can restrain myself.
I decided, since I found myself in an unconventional setting and dressed in my favorite orange and blue floral culottes form ASOS, why not continue to take advantage of my mom and stage a photoshoot right then and there. She rolled her eyes and agreed to take pictures of me, and then sent the ones of me in the plane in a group text to my family members from opposite sides who did not have each others' numbers and got extremely confused.
I have always loved these pants because they are comfortable, loose, and LOUD with their odd shape and unconventional print. I decided to throw on a nice black wrap top to calm everything down and a pair of hoop earrings i rediscovered after cleaning my room. You and I both love it when that happens. My favorite part about this outfit is that it is boxy and not form fitting at all--which makes it so different from conventional womens'wear. Because I, Elspeth Suber, am different, in case you didn't know.
